What is different from Omegle
- 01
Who you meet
Omegle paired you with another visitor at random. On OmegleCam you are connected with someone who is live on OmegleCam, through our own matching.
- 02
Video, not text
There is no text-only lobby. A match on OmegleCam is a live video call.
- 03
Someone to ask
If something goes wrong, our support team is reachable through the Contact page.
OmegleCam is an independent service and is not affiliated with Omegle.

What to check in sites like Omegle
Websites like Omegle come and go, and plenty borrow the name. Six questions sort them out quickly. We do not rank other services; use the same questions on us.
Does it claim to be Omegle?
There is no official new Omegle. A site that says it is the original, or its official return, is not being straight with you.
Can you try it before signing up?
If the first screen is a long registration form, it is a different kind of service from the one you remember.
Is it clear who you will meet?
A good site explains how matching works and who is on the other end.
Are the call controls easy to find?
Muting, switching cameras and ending the call should be one tap away.
Is there a way to get help?
Look for a real contact page or support address.
Is there a privacy policy you can read?
It should say what the site collects and how camera access is handled.
On any video chat
- Keep your full name, address and social handles to yourself on a first call.
- End the call straight away if it feels wrong. You owe nobody an explanation.
- Check what is behind you: mail, photos and windows can say more than you mean.
- If a call goes badly, end it and contact our support team.

FAQ
Questions about Omegle and its alternatives
Does Omegle still exist?
No. Omegle closed on November 8, 2023, and the site now only shows a farewell note from its founder. Any site offering video chat today is a separate service.
Why did Omegle shut down?
In his closing statement, the founder said that running Omegle was no longer sustainable, financially or psychologically, after years of fighting misuse of the service.
Is there a new official Omegle, or is Omegle coming back?
There is no official new version and no announced return. Sites with similar names, including OmegleCam, are independent and are not run by the people behind Omegle.
Is OmegleCam the same as Omegle?
No. OmegleCam is an independent service and is not affiliated with Omegle. It keeps the parts people liked, such as starting quickly and talking one-on-one, as a live video call in your browser.
Do I need an app to use an Omegle alternative?
Not for OmegleCam. It runs in the browser on your phone or computer, so there is nothing to install.
Which Omegle alternative should I choose?
It depends on what you want from a call. Use the checklist on this page: no false claims to be Omegle, a clear idea of who you will meet, easy call controls, and a real way to get help.
